Man handed four-year jail term after admitting to theft charges

Anthony Seisun, 42 of Paola was handed a four year jail term after pleading guilty to charges of theft.

Police Inspector Jurgen Vella explained how on various nights in February this year, the accused stole from vehicles and garages inside a basement in Ghaxaq. 

Two days ago Seisun stole petrol from a Honda CRX in Paola after driving the same vehicle without a licence and insurance. He was also charged with handling stolen property.

The police told the court, the thefts happened during an operative term of a suspended sentence.

Magistrate Carol Peralta heard the man's guilty plea and sentenced him to four years imprisonment.
