Updated | Two arrested over stabbing in Valletta

Two men from Valletta arrested following stabbing of a 24-year-old man last night.

A 24-year-old man from Marsaxlokk was critically injured when he was stabbed during an argument in Great Siege Road, Valletta, early in the morning, the police said.

Later this morning, the police said that the victim was no longer in danger of losing his life.

After being informed of the incident by hospital at around 2am, the police arrested two men, both from Valletta, who were seen a short distance from where the stabbing took place.

One of the men had blood splattered on his face. The police said the two men, aged 33 and 49, were arrested and it resulted that they had been in an argument with the man who was stabbed in the back. 

A Magisterial inquiry is under way.
