While pathologists believe it was a heart attack which killed Mario Camilleri l-Imniehru, police investigators have declarations which state Camilleri Sr was shot.

The pathologists believe that while he may have been shot at, it was not the bullet that killed him, as it did not penetrate the skull.

To solve the conflicting theories, Magistrate Doreen Clark has asked for the body to be re-examined. The body was exhumed on Tuesday, three days after the father and son were buried.

The police inspectors from the criminal investigations department (CID) have arraigned two men in connection with the case: l-Imniehru's brother-in-law Jason Galea, 39 of Birzebbugia, and George Galea, 41 of St Julian's.

Jason Galea - together with Ronald Urry, 49 of Paola - is also being accused of having murdered taxi driver Matthew Zahra on 15 August 2012.

Remains of what police believe belong to Zahra were found in the Qajjenza field buried under the Camilleris. Declarations made to the police revealed that Zahra was shot and then buried in the Qajjenza field. However, DNA tests have yet to confirm this information.

The Police have so far ruled out any connection with previous murders which occurred between March 2012 and May 2013. It is being suggested that Jason Galea may have had an argument with his brother-in-law over a business they shared.

In the case of Zahra, it is believed that the argument with Galea may have been about money loaned to Zahra.
