Octogenarian injured in Floriana traffic accident

An elderly person was hit by a car today at about 7.45am, in St Calcedonius Square, corner with Vincenzo Dimech Street, Floriana

Preliminary investigations found that the octogenarian, 80, of Msida, was crossing the street when he was hit by a Nissan Qashqai being driven by a young woman, 23, of Birkirkara.

The pensioner, who was found conscious, was hospitalised.

An update with his medical condition will be issued in due course.
