Nigerian drug mule remanded in custody
Man was apprehended flying down from Brussels carrying 46 drug capsules containing almost 500 grammes of cocaine.
Eddy Favour, 25 of Nigeria, was remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to trafficking 460 gramnes of cocaine.
The Nigerian, who lives in Italy, was apprehended by the police at the Malta International Airport on Tuesday afternoon on a flight from Brussels. He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital where medical tests showed that he had 46 drug capsules in his stomach.
Magistrate Gabriella Vella heard the accused plead not guilty and remanded him in custody.
Inspector Dennis Theuma prosecuted while legal aid Dr Anthony Cutajar appeared for the accused.
