Woman, 25, in custody over theft, drug charges
Donnalise Chircop, 25 of Marsascala was remanded in custody after she was arraigned twice in the same morning over different charges.
Inspector Silvio Magro, charged the youth with stealing cosmetic products from the Miller Distributors outlet at the Mata International Airport on 13 August. Chircop pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted bail.
However Magistrate Giovanni Grixti revoked bail when the 25-year-old reappeared in the dock charged with trafficking cannabis.
Inspectors Arthur Mercieca, Spiridione Zammit and Saviour Baldacchino explained to the court how when arrested, Chircop was also in possession of heroin. The young offender was charged with stealing a Mazda on the night of 4 August and with stealing items from the residence of Ritianne Galea and Matthew Vassallo.
The magistrate remanded Chircop in custody and revoked the bail conditions granted to the accused minutes before the second arraignment.
