Two arrested after suspected truck arson

Two men have been arrested in connection with suspected arson in Triq il-Qolla s-Safra, Zebbug, Gozo.

An Isuzu truck, belonging to a 35-year-old Syrian man residing in Ghajnsielem, was set on fire at around 2:45am.

Officers from the mobile squad tried to control the flames with a fire extinguisher until members of the Civil Protection Department arrived on site.

The truck was extensively damaged in the blaze, so much so that its cabin was destroyed, the Police said.

MaltaToday is informed that the two men being interrogated by the police are a Libyan and Syrian. Both reside in Ghajnsielem.
