Heroin, methadone found inside service provider’s van entering Corradino

An unspecified amount of drugs were found inside a van transporting computer hardware to the Corradino Correctional Facility.

A spokesperson for the ministry of home affairs said an unspecified amount of heroin and half a bottle of methadone was found on the van.

The ministry refused to name the supplier, but police investigations are underway and a person was arrested.

The spokesperson said "added security" inside the prisons had enabled the drug find.

Earlier this week drug tests on two warders at the CCF led to their arrest, after traces of cocaine was found.
