Parents forgive son for selling their jewellery
Parents opt not to proceed against their son in court as Magistrate orders him to follow a drug rehabilitation programme.
Matthew Brincat, 33 of Qormi was arraigned over the selling of over €2,000 worth of his parents' jewellery to sustain his drug addiction.
However, in an unexpected turn of events, the parents withdrew the charges and chose not to proceed against their son.
The accused pleaded guilty to making false declarations to the police. The court ordered Brincat to follow a drug rehabilitation programme and placed him on a three year probation period.
