Tunisian ordered not to speak to wife
Court grants bail to Tunisian national who threatened wife with a knife but orders him no to talk to her.
Tunisian national Ferhat Bouchhioua, 59, who resides in Qormi was granted bail after pleading not guilty to threatening his wife with a knife.
At around 8:30pm on 25 August, the couple had an argument over their children. The argument escalated and Bouchhioua brandished a knife with which he threatened his wife. He was also charged with keeping the woman against her will, causing her slight injuries, illegally carrying a knife and relapsing.
Magistrate Edwina Grima granted Bouchhioua bail against a personal guarantee of €10,000 and ordered the Tunisian not to speak to his wife in any way.
