Man ‘booby-trapped’ by prostitute

Man has his wallet stolen after agreeing to pay €20 to stare at prostitute’s bare breasts.

Prostitute Donna Camilleri, 26, was remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to stealing a wallet from her client Robert Spiteri.

Spiteri told the court how he had agreed to pay Camilleri €20 to stare at her breasts without touching her, in his car.

After pulling up her shirt, Camilleri insisted that she could offer more services if she gets paid more, however Spiteri refused.

The victim said that at that moment, Kyle Mifsud, allegedly the woman's pimp, entered the car, hit Spiteri and took his wallet containing €80 in cash.

As Camilleri was about to plead guilty in court, she changed her mind following the advice of her lawyer Luciano Busuttil, who advised his client that she faced a jail term if pleading guilty.

She was also charged with loitering for prostitution purposes, assaulting Spiteri, breaching a suspended sentence and relapsing.

"Your police record is the size of a Bible, including convictions over theft, misappropriation, loitering for prostitution, fraud and breaching a suspended sentence. It seems you do not want to learn from your mistakes and change your ways. The court trusted you and you tried to fool the court again," Magistrate Consuello Scerri Herrera told the woman.

Defence lawyer Luciano Busuttil asked if the court could assign a probation officer to the young woman, who had recently been employed in a factory. "She could plead 'not guilty' today and the probation officer will then report on her behaviour in due time," the lawyer said.

However, the court said that bail would not be granted to Camilleri but a solution could be found in order for her to safeguard her job. Magistrate Scerri Herrera said arrangements could be made with the Director of Prisons so Camilleri would be escorted to her place of work and taken back to Corradino Correctional Facility when her workday is finished.

Camilleri interrupted the Court, and insisted that she would quit her job because she did not want to face the humiliation of reporting for work under escort.

As the accused loudly voiced her disagreement, the magistrate said that it was not the court which was imprisoning her but her own behaviour.

Moments later, her young pimp Kyle Mifsud was charged with driving a vehicle which was unlicensed and uninsured. The court noted his clean police record and granted him bail against a personal guarantee of €10,000.

While exiting court under police escort, the accused started arguing with Mifsud, who told Camilleri that she had been caught because she was "silly and stupid."

Police officers moved the two in separate directions but Camilleri insisted in approaching Mifsud. When officers kept the man away, the woman started insulting the policemen and screaming at them to leave Mifsud alone.

Inspectors Robert Vella and Fabian Fleri prosecuted.

I am very sorry Mr. Spiteri but a porn film would have costed you less and surely given you much less hassle.
