Toddler in critical condition after balcony fall

A 12-month-old girl is in hospital fighting for her life after falling from a third-floor balcony.

Emergency crew from Mater Dei Hospital were called to a private residence in Pietru D'Armenia street, Pembroke, at around 5:30pm.

The toddler was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital where her medical condition was described as critical. She is in danger of dying due to the injuries sustained.

An inquriy into the incident has been launched while police investigations are still ongoing.

In their statement, the Police said investigations so far have failed to establish what caused the child to fall.
