Sliema man stabbed in Gzira

The Police are holding a man in connection with a stabbing incident in Gzira last night. The victim, a 62-year-old man from Sliema, is in critical condition, the Police have confirmed.

The police said around 10:30pm it received a report that a man was covered in blood in Fleet Street, Gzira.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man may have been involved in an argument in Sir Frederick Ponsonby Street and was stabbed with a pointed instrument.

A magisterial inquiry has been ordered. Police investigation is ongoing.
