Man critically injured in Hamrun traffic accident

A Pizza Hut delivery person was injured in a traffic accident in Hamrun. The incident happened shortly after 11pm in St Joseph High Street.

The man, 46, was driving a scooter when he was involved in a collision with a Mercedes mini bus driven by a 22-year-old from Gzira.

It is believed that the driver of the scooter may have skidded and hit the front side of the mini bus which was turning onto the main street from a side street.

With the impact, the man hit his head on the bumper's side, with the helmet remaining stuck behind the van's wheel.

The man is in danger of dying.
