Court places a 20-year-old under two years probation after he admits to trafficking by sharing.

A 20-year old man from San Gwann was fined after pleading guilty to importing and trafficking by sharing 13 grams of cannabis grass in August 2011.

The accused took the witness stand and explained how at the time he had been abusing the drug for three years and smoked at least one joint daily.

"I used to buy Cannabis at €10 or €15 per gram, so I decided to import it myself. One time I imported 10 grams and on another occasion 3 grams."

Taking into consideration that the accused has since kicked the habit, is currently studying and also his clean police conduct, Magistrate Natasha Galea Sciberras placed the youth under a two-year probation order.
