Pensioner stabs shop attendant at The Duke shopping complex

A 29-year-old man from Zebbug, Gozo, was rushed to Gozo General Hospital after being stabbed at his place of work.

According to initial reports, a 77-year-old man, also from Zebbug, was refused entry at a supermarket within the Duke's shopping complex in Victoria. The reason for the refusal is unclear

The man subsequently produced a knife and stabbed the shop attendant in his arm and left the complex.

The incident happened at around 9:15am.

The elderly man was captured by the police outside the complex and is being held for interrogation.

The shop attendant, who is also suffering from shock, was taken to the Gozo General Hospital for medical treatement. His condition is not yet known.
