Elderly man hit by car in Qormi

A 69-year-old man from Qormi was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital this morning after a car hit him.

The man, who is not in a critical condition, was crossing the Mriehel Bypass when he was hit by a Kia Avella, ending up on a second car.

The incident, which happened at around 7:30am, lead to a long traffic jam which was cleared away around two hours later.

In a separate incident, a motorcyclist suffered grievous injuries when he crashed into a Hyundai Coupe. The incident happened at around 5:55am Independence Road, Mosta.

Charles Seychell, 31 of Luqa, was rushed to hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
