Italian pleads guilty to trafficking by sharing
An Italian man is given a nine month jail term suspended for two years and fined €500 after pleading guilty to sharing cocaine in Paceville.
Italian national Giuseppe Unniemi, 31, of Carini, Sicily was handed a nine month jail term suspended for two years and fined €500 after pleading guilty to trafficking cocaine in Paceville early yesterday morning.
Prosecuting Inspector Gabriel Micallef explained how on 8 December, the Sicilian was apprehended while sharing a small amount of cocaine with another person.
He pleaded guilty to trafficking through sharing and the police are expected to arraign the other person over drug possession.
Magistrate Charmaine Galea, explained to the accused the consequences of a guilty plea and after being allocated time to review his plea, Unniemi confirmed his guilt.
The court handed the Italian a nine month jail term suspended for two years and a fine of € 500, after taking into consideration that the amount of cocaine in his possession was minimal.
