Updated | Two men rescued following roof collapse in Mellieħa

The police said that two men were rescued after a roof collapsed in New Street in Marfa Road, Mellieha.

The accident occurred around 1.40pm.

Members of the Civil Protection Department and a medical team assisted the men following the collapse of a restaurant's roof in Mellieha which was under construction.

One of the men, aged 19, suffered grievious injuries and his condition is life threatening. The condition of the other man, aged 52, is still unknown.

An inquiry is underway.
