Relapsing car thief denied bail

Stefan Cutajar, 29, of Safi was denied bail after denying any involvement in stealing and damaging a number of cars on three consecutive days.

Prosecuting inspector Sarah Magri told the court that between 22 and 24 February, the accused broke into six cars and damaged another three. The incidents happened in San Gwann, Santa Venera, Msida and Valletta. Cutajar was also charged with breaching the conditions of a previous release and relapsing

Upon hearing the not guilty plea, Magistrate Edwina Grima remanded the accused in custody.

Police Inspectors Elton Taliana and Sarah Magri prosecuted while lawyers Kris Busietta and Jason Azzopardi appeared for the accused.
