Woman involved in Regional Road accident

Late last night a woman lost control of her vehicle and smashed into the wall outside the Regional Road tunnels in St Julian's.

The 23-year-old woman from Birkirkara lost control of her Fiat Punto at around 12:30am as she was driving in the direction of Paceville.

She was rescued by members of the civil protection department and after being taken to hospital by an ambulance, the woman was thought to be in a critical state. However, the woman is no longer in danger of losing her life.

An inquiry led by magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera is underway.
