Police foil drug trafficking ring, three Sicilians arrested
Three Italian men are being held under arrest after police found cannabis during the early hours of this morning in a vehicle.
Three Italian men have been arrested by police for drug trafficking after police found five kilogrammes of cannabis resin and two packets of suspected cannabis in the car they were travelling in.
The police said that after weeks of investigation, Drug Squad officials managed to foil a drug smuggling ring.
Three men, all from Catania, aged 54, 48 and 30 were arrested in the early hours of this morning soon after arriving in Malta.
They were arrested in Paceville at around 3am.
After conducting a search in the men’s vehicle, police discovered five kilogrammes of cannabis resin, and two packets weighing around of cannabis.
A magisterial inquiry is underway.
