Woman found guilty of threatening public officer
Woman handed a suspended jail term and fined €800 after admitting to threatening a public officer.
Giovanna Antida Muscat, 48 of San Gwann was handed a suspended sentence after pleading guilty to threatening a public officer.
Inspector Luke Bonello told the court that the accused had threatened a female public officer and caused her to fear that violence would be used against her. The incident happened in October 2013.
The accused admitted to the charges.
Magistrate Doreen Clarke noted that the accused had fully cooperated with the investigators pleaded guilty at an early stage of the proceedings and had a clean police record.
Muscat was handed a five month jail term suspended for a year and fined €800. The fine shall be paid in monthly rates, starting from July.
The court also placed the victim under a protection order.
