Man jailed over illegal driving

Matthew Zarb, 26, of Birkirkara, was jailed for two months after being apprehended behind the wheel of an unlicensed and uninsured Mercedes.

The man was arrested at around 1:30am. When police officers called in the plates of his vehicle, it resulted that they belonged to a BMW. Moreover, the road tax on the vehicle’s windscreen belonged to a Peugeot.

Noting the man was a relapser, Magistrate Francesco Depasquale ruled that the accused had no fear of the law, and had insisted in his ways. Zarb was convicted and jailed for two months.
