Woman admits stealing mobile phone
A Spanish woman is handed a conditional discharge after admitting to stealing mobile phone
Spanish national Miriam Plaza Yunta, was handed a conditional discharge after returning a mobile phone she stole from a car rental office in Sliema.
Prosecuting inspector Jason Francis Sultana, explained how the 30-year old Spaniard who lives in Sliema stole mobile phone Samsung S4 from the Herz Car Rental office in Sliema. The phone belonged to Vannessa Pollacco.
The incident happened on 8 May this year and when the police apprehended Yunta, she admitted to the theft and returned the mobile phone.
Considering the accused’s early guilty plea, the Spaniard’s clean police record and that the stolen item was returned, Magistrate Josette Demicoli handed the woman a one year conditional discharge.
