Event organiser ordered to pay debts

The court ordered Edric Bonello, to pay Malta Art Events Limited, the sum of €10,160 in outstanding payments in connection with the Christmas Gala ‘A Viennese Night’ organised at the Mediterranean Conference Centre two years ago.

On 27 March 2014, Malta Art Events Limited claimed that Bonello owed more than €10,160 to third party suppliers. The event was held on 29 December 2012 at the MCC.

Although repeatedly informed of the court proceedings, Bonello never appeared in court.

Magistrate Consuello Scerri Herrera ordered the defendant to pay the amount due together with court expenses and interest until date of final payment.

The Gala Concert was conducted by Maestro Damiano Binetti from Italy, with the participation of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, international solo violinist Ilija Marinkovic, and opera singers from the Vienna Opera Theatre, Soprano Agnesi Vrablova and tenor Kisun Kim.

The Imperial Vienna Ballet also performed on the night.
