Cyclist in critical condition

A 52-year-old man from  Santa Lucija is in danger of dying after he was hit by a car in Zejtun last night.

According to the Police's communications office, the man was riding his bicycle in Triq San Anard when the accident occurred. Preliminary investigations found that a collision occurred between a Toyota Starlet and a bicycle at 9pm.

The car was being driven by a 71-year-old male.

The cyclist was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital where he was certified to be in critical condition.

A Magisterial inquiry has been appointed. Police investigation ongoing.
