Inmate caught with drugs inside prison

A female inmate was caught with drugs at the Corradino Correctional Facility this morning, with initial investigations suggesting the drug was heroin.

The packet was discovered when the inmate was caught attempting to pass it to another inmate. The police were notified immediately and an investigation is underway. The inmate was relocated to a different division.

The ministry of home affairs has ordered the training of drug sniffer dogs in an effort to combat drug use in the prison.
