Contraband alcohol seized on arrival from Sicily

Customs officials have, in the past days, confiscated nearly 800 bottles of contraband alcohol.

The discovery was made when a car bearing Maltese license plates was searched after it arrived from Sicily.

157 crates of alcohol, containing 798 bottles, were seized. The haul would cost about €4,000 in customs duties. Both the alcohol and the vehicle were confiscated by Customs officials for further investigation.
