Masked man robs lotto office owner of €950

A masked man in a black jacket robbed a 40-year-old lotto office owner of around €950 in cash and €240 worth of top-up mobile credit cards.

The incident took place at 7pm in Triq Guzeppi Micallef, Luqa after the lotto office owner had closed down her office for the day and was walking towards her parked car.

The masked robber was said to have approached her, shoved her aside and snatched her purse that contained the money and top-up cards.

The thief ran away from the location and police do not yet know whether he used a car to escape.

RIU police were called to the scene of the crime where they proceeded to conduct a fruitless search for the thief. Police investigations are ongoing.
