Traffic accident in Lija leaves French woman injured

 53 year-old woman from France, who lives in Mosta was admitted into hospital earlier today, after being hit by a car whilst riding a bicycle. The accident took place at around 3.50 p.m at Triq il-Mosta in Lija.

The woman was allegedly riding her bicycle towards Mosta when she was struck down by a Peugeot 205. The car was being driven by a 42 year old man from Rabat. Both the car and the bicycle were reported to be going in the same direction.

An ambulance was called to the scene of the accident, and the woman was taken to hospital where she is being given further medical attention. Traffic and District police were both called to the scene, with district police ti prepare a report of the incident.

The nature and extent of the woman’s injuries are as yet unknown.
