Young woman in critical condition following accident

Police were informed earlier today that an accident had taken place at around 02:05 at Vjal il-Labour in Naxxar.

The police went straight to the scene of the accident where they found that an Alfa Romeo 147, had been driven into a tree. According to preliminary investigations, the driver is 20 years old and from Naxxar. The vehicle was being driven towards Lija and he lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons. The vehicle then crashed into a tree.

There were two other passengers in the vehicle, both 18-year-old women from Attard. The women were both taken to Mater Dei for the required medical attention, and one of the women has been certified as critical, while the other has suffered grievous injuries.

The 20 year old driver, was uninjured in the accident.

The Duty Magistrate was immediately informed about the case, and she hired various experts to assist her in the investigations. Police investigations are still on-going.
