Bail for Cospicua man charged with threatening police
The accused pleaded not guilty to threatening the officers, disobeying police, breaching the peace and relapsing
A 30-year-old man from Cospicua has been released on bail after he appeared in court this morning, charged with threatening a Police sergeant and a constable who had intervened in an argument between him and another man in Cospicua on Saturday at about 2am.
Inspector Josric Mifsud, prosecuting, told the court that the man was arrested on the Cospicua seafront last Saturday after he reacted abusively to police who tried to calm the situation.
Magistrate Miriam Hayman heard Felix Barbara plead not guilty to threatening the officers, disobeying police, breaching the peace and relapsing and was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €3,000.
Lawyers Carm Mifsud Bonnici, Noel Camilleri and Charmaine Cherrett defended Barbara.
