Motorcyclist, pillion rider injured after being involved in Marsascala crash.

A 35-year-old motorcyclist is in danger of dying after being involved in a head-on crash in St Anthony Street, Marsascala.

The incident occurred at around 5.20pm, when for a Kawasaki Ninja driven by a 35-year-old man from Paola crashed into an oncoming Ford Fiesta driven by a 42-year-old man from Zabbar. Initial investigations suggest that for an unknown reason, the motorcyclist crashed head-on into the Ford Fiesta while the latter was waiting to turn into a secondary road near the waste recycling plant in Marsascala.

The man suffered critical injuries and is in danger of dying while a 36-year-old woman from Paola who was riding pillion was also hospitalised. Her injuries are not yet known.

The driver and the passengers of the Ford Fiesta escaped uninjured but are said to be suffering from shock.
