Police warn of phone scams

The police has issued a public message urging people to be wary of calls purporting to be representatives of internationally renowned companies reporting a computer virus.

According to the police, the callers claim that the technological device has been hit by a virus and they proceed to list a series of actions on how to remove it.

“This is another scam whereby criminals try to gain remote access of your device together with any stored information. The callers also demand payments,” the police warned.
