Two injured as car crashes into the sea

A young man and woman were injured when their car fell into the sea last night.

The incident took place in the early hours of Monday morning, towards 00:45, at il-Maghluq in Marsaxlokk.

The district police, were immediately called on the scene, where they found a Renault Clio upside down in the sea.

It was later revealed that the car was being driven by a 22-year-old man, who resides in Zabbar, and that the 18-year-old girl was a passenger in the vehicle.

Luckily, both the victims managed to get out of the car on time, and they were taken to Mater Dei hospital by ambulance, where they were certified as suffering from slight and grievous injuries respectively.

A boat that was moored nearby also suffered some damages in the incident, and the case is being investigated by District police.
