Bulgarian jailed after stealing cash from elderly woman

A 42-year-old Bulgarian woman will be spending the next nine months in prison after she admitted to having stolen cash from an elderly woman earlier this month. 

Police Inspectors Kurt Zahra and Paula Ciantar had charged Gina Pantaleeva with stealing just under €600 in cash from the elderly woman’s Paola home during the morning of 16 July this year.

Panteleeva admitted to the charges brought against her and was handed a nine-month prison sentence, after the court, presided by Magistrate Gabriella Vella, took into account the woman’s clean police conduct.
