Zebbug man charged in connection with half-kilo cannabis find

A 24 year old Zebbug man has denied aggravated drugs possession and trafficking charges, after a police raid found half a kilogramme of cannabis resin, as well as cocaine, at his residence.
Inspector Gabriel Micallef explained to magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona how Larkin Scicluna had been arrested yesterday, following a drugs raid on his house on Thursday.
It is understood that after a search of his home, police uncovered a half-kilogramme stash of cannabis resin, as well as some cocaine.
Scicluna, who told the court that he works at a car wash, pleaded not guilty to producing or selling cannabis, cocaine possession and relapsing.
Defence lawyer Arthur Azzopardi said that the accused has a strong cannabis dependency and had been consuming the drug since the age of 17. He added that his client was prepared to undergo a drug rehabilitation programme.
Sciculna was granted bail against a deposit of €5000.
