Quick-thinking boy saves grandmother from fire
54-year-old woman and her seven-year-old grandson treated for smoke inhalation and shock after fire engulfs Mosta apartment.
A woman and a seven-year-old boy escaped unhurt after a fire engulfed a Mosta apartment on Satruday evening, police said.
The police said the incident occurred at around 7:45pm in Triq ir-Rebbiegha, Mosta when the boy noticed smoke coming out of the kitchen. The quick thinking boy managed to inform his 54-year-old grandmother, and safely escort her out of the apartment.
Both escaped unharmed but were later conveyed to hospital to be treated for shock and smoke inhalation.
Members from the Civil Protection Department controlled the blaze.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
An inquiry has been launched while police investigations are ongoing.
