Youth in danger of dying after crashing into tree

A 22-year-old man from Birzebbugia was critically injured this morning when his Suzuki Vitara crashed into a tree in Paola.

The police said the incident occurred at about 5.15am after the man lost control of his vehicle while driving towards Zejtun and crashed into a tree at Vjal Santa Lucija, Paola.

He was trapped in the wreckage of his car and was cut free by rescuers from the Civil Protection Department.

The man was conveyed to Mater Dei Hospital where he was certified to be suffering from life-threating injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
