Suspected heroine, cocaine found in search

11 kg of a susbstance believed to be drugs, have been found by the police after months of observation. The Anti-Drugs Squad has arrested a 39-year-old Zejtun resident in connection to the case.

Investigations reached their pinnacle yesterday evening when police carried out a search on two properties belonging to the man, one in Marsa and another in Zejtun.

Some 8kg of cocaine and 3kg of heroine were discovered in the properties, and items related to trafficking were discovered during the search, as well as substantial amounts of cash.

The duty magistrate was informed of the case and a number of experts were appointed for the investigation.

The man is expected to be taken to court later today.
