Man injured after losing control of security van

A man has been hospitalised after he was injured in an accident in Triq il-Xatt, Pieta.

The man lost control of a security van he was driving, with the vehicle breaking through the central strip barrier and crossing into adjacent lane.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance where he was treated for serious injuries but his condition is not yet known.

Following the incident police overlooked a delicate operation to transfer the money to another security van. AFM members carrying firearms and traffic policemen were on site to manage the situation as heavy traffic clogged both lanes.
