Car falls three storeys into valley
AFM helicopter called in to help rescue trapped passenger
A driver and a passenger were injured after their car crashed in St Paul’s Bay, falling a height of three storeys into a valley.
The incident happened early Saturday morning at around 4.40am in Dawret San Pawl il-Bahar.
According to preliminary investigations, a 29-year-old man from Naxxar was driving his Mercedes Benz towards Xemxija when he lost control of the car, hit the barrier, crashed a wall and plummeted into the valley.
A 32-year-old man from Sliema was in the car. A helicopter of the Armed Forces of Malta was called in to help rescue the trapped passenger after the driver managed to get out of the car walk back to the road seeking assistance.
Both men were taken to Mater Dei Hospital. The passenger suffered grievous injuries.
