Thief jailed for stealing from parked car
The value of the items stolen was estimated to be around €1,200
A Serbian man who admitted to stealing items from a parked Land Rover has been sentenced to nine months imprisonment.
Police inspector Trevor Micallef charged Aleksandar Stojanovic, 36, with stealing a bag containing an iPhone, two Nokia mobile phones, a GPS device and a small camera.
The theft took place in St Julian's on Friday evening. The value of the items stolen was estimated to be around €1,200.
Magistrate Monica Vella sentenced Stojanovic to nine months imprisonment, after lawyer Leontine Calleja, who was appointed as legal aid to the accused, entered a plead of guilty.
