Motorcyclist’s passenger hospitalized after Marsa accident

A 32 year-old woman from Victoria, who was riding on the back of a motorcycle was hospitalized following a collision between the bike and a BMW this afternoon.

Police say that the motorcycle, driven by a 32-year-old man from Victoria, crashed into a BMW driven by a 25-year-old man from Zejtun, at 1:40pm in Triq l-Istabal, Marsa.

Although the two drivers weren’t hurt in the collision, the motorcyclist’s passenger suffered “serious injuries” and had to be rushed to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment.

Police investigations are ongoing.

This was the second accident involving a motorcyclist today, after a 30-year-old from Birgu slipped and crashed while driving on the Coast Road this morning.
