Elderly couple injured in Qormi traffic accident

An elderly couple were injured when they were hit by a car in Qormi this afternoon, the police said in a statement.

The incident happened at about 4:10pm in Lion Street. The man and woman, aged 69 and 68 respectively, were hit by a Toyota Vitz which was being driven in the direction of the Marsa racecourse by a 62-year-old man.

The police said that the man's medical condition is not yet known but the woman was grievously injured.
