Elderly woman grievously injured after being struck by bus

A woman was injured this morning after being struck by a bus in Floriana, while she was driving an electric scooter.

The incident took place at about 10am, in Triq Nazzjonali, Floriana.

Investigations by the Valletta district police revealed that the 80-year-old Valletta resident was struck by a King Long bus, driven by a 23-year-old Isla resident.

The woman was conveyed to hospital, to receive treatment for her injuries, which were classed as grievous.

Police investigations are ongoing.
