Youth, 25, stabbed in St Julian's, officer slightly injured

A 25-year-old man from Zejtun was grievously injured after he was stabbed in an altercation in Paceville at 4:30am

A 25-year-old Zejtun resident was grievously injured after being stabbed in an argument that took place in Sqaq Lourdes, St. Julian’s in the early hours of Sunday morning.

District police were called at 4.30 am about an altercation taking place in the street, and preliminary investigation showed that the 25-year old was stabbed during an argument he was having with a 37-year-old Ertitrean man who resides in Msida.

An ambulance was called to the scene and the man was rushed to hospital where he was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

A 26-year old woman who lives in San Gwann was also involved in the incident, and she suffered light injuries as a result.

A police constable, who was on the scene to try and control the situation, was also assaulted during the intervention and he suffered light injuries.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
