Elderly man arrested for drug possession

A 62-year-old man from Bormla was remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to drug possession earlier today.

Angelo Vella pleaded not guilty to the possession of heroin and cocaine, that were not intended for his personal use.

Vella, who said he has been living out of his car, was arrested some days ago in Qormi after being spotted by members of the Drug Squad. The man, who is known to the police, was searched, and copious amounts of drugs were found on his person.
