Updated | Swedish man critical after being run over by car

A 28-year old Swedish man has been critically injured after being run over by a car in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident occurred at 05:30 in Triq Santu Wistin, St Julian’s. The man, who is thought to be a foreigner, was hit by a Saab 93 18T Linear being driven by a 31-year-old Iklin resident.

The man was taken to Mater Dei hospital where he was certified as being in a critical condition.

A magesterial inquiry has been launched into the accident and police investigations are ongoing.
